Shoplifter #10,000 celebrated
Tuesday, April 4th 2006.Hilarious. Dutch supermarket store Hema found an original way to keep shoplifters out. They recently celebrated their #10,000 shoplifter with all the works: marching band, cake and party-hat. The girl doesn’t know where to look. Hilarious. The video is here.

It’s amazing how far a little bit of humiliation will go when used as a punishment. If you got caught littering in Singapore, you were required to pick up litter on the side of the road wearing a bright orange vest that proclaimed “I AM A LITTERBUG”.
You so could not do that here. You’d get sued in a heartbeat.
