I saw this first at last year’s SIGGRAPH. Photosynth is the name for what seems to have become the actual product. It is really spiffy, fly around famous scenes around the world, focusing on pictures taken by various people through time.

Check out the Piazza San Pietro in Rome for an amazing Tech Preview. And it works in Firefox! (but you need Windows XP or Vista)
